Hair Transplants are not only confined to the top of your head. One of the best targets for hair transplantation is facial hair. If you’ve always wanted a fuller beard, there is no better time than now to make it happen.
A beard transplant works just like a regular hair transplant. Your surgeon or technician extracts donor hair from the back of the head, which is the area that is resistant to genetic balding. The hair is harvested one graft at a time, with each graft consisting of 1-4 hair follicles. The grafts are then inserted into the facial areas you want filled out, making sure the correct density and angle of each hair is observed for a natural look.
Just like a hair transplant for the top of your head, a beard transplant is a minimally-invasive procedure that requires only 1-2 days of downtime. The procedure itself takes a half day or full day depending on the number of grafts. Most patients return to their regular activities within a day or two of their procedure. The hardest part required of you may well be the patience you’ll need while your beard grows in over the course of a few months.
